About the photographer on the tour:

Hi I’m Llewelyn and I have a passion for travel and photographing my adventures! I’m also a teacher. I’ve often wondered why I come home with thousands of photos. The simple reason is because, with digital technology, I can. But when I really thought about it, I realised that I see my travel THROUGH my lens. It’s my extra pair of eyes!

And through my lens it’s important for me to capture the essence of a place – the detail, colour, textures and patterns that will be true reminders of the magic of a place.

Now I was a purist for a long time-never editing any photos-until someone showed me the difference that a few small tweaks can make. A great photo can become a stunner in no time at all!

On this tour, let me help YOU find the essence of Nepal with your camera lens, look for and capture fascinating shots using more original perspectives and then get you hooked on editing!

Bazaar walk / Asan Tole / Freak Street

We visit any one of the six streets that converge on this ceremonial marketplace. Meander amongst the abundance of wares, steal a stunning shot of mountains of colourful fabric festooned upon temple steps, get amidst the hustle and bustle of the constant trading and bartering. Remember to look UP to discover little shuttered windows and ancient architecture. As people poke their heads out, maybe to survey the scene below or to hang out their washing, a little wave is often permission enough to take a photo.

Golden Hour orientation tour around Lakeside late afternoon

There is nothing more tranquil than Phewa Lake at sunset. Its pond-like qualities create the most beautiful reflective photographs I have ever taken. And the little coloured boats offer picture postcard shots at every turn. Try your hand at some action shots as locals’ paddle by, or just kick back and take it all in.

Day 5. Pokhara

Lakeside and Sarangkot (depending on weather)

Enjoy a different view of the Lake as the mist lifts gently off the water, and the lake comes alive with activity. Another chance for those beautiful reflective shots that would make for a beautiful canvas memento of your trip. Finish off with a stroll along the foreshore and maybe a coffee at one of the many cafes, while drinking in the lake view.

Followed by (subject to weather)

Swirling, twirling colours greet us on arrival at Sarangkot, home of paragliding in Pokhara. What’s not to photograph as tourists and experts alike drop off the side of the cliff, the colours of the rainbow drifting down the valley, with the snow-capped mountains as a backdrop!! Simply stunning! Remember to enjoy a hot lemon, ginger and honey tea from the cafe – it’s a Nepalese speciality!
