This small group tour has a maximum of twelve people. We’ve found the balance between organised short tours and free time.

You can enjoy the offsite pool or mooch around the cafes and shops of the UNESCO old town.

It would appeal to people who would like the benefits of some organised activities without feeling rushed.

All breakfasts are included. Lunches and dinners included in the itinerary are mostly a la carte and high end.

Day 1

Arrive Luang Prabang.  Enjoy a 20-minute drive in an air con van then settle in to your hotel. You’ll be helped out with all practicalities. Take a shower and relax before a short stroll to your welcome dinner overlooking the river.

After dinner  we wander through the night market as we watch the locals display their clothes and trinkets. Pick up a bargain to take back home as gifts.

Night market stroll

Day 2

Walking Wat tour (1 hour) or Morning market tour (3 hours).

Today we separate into two small groups in order to have more personal attention during your tour. One group is with a profit-for-purpose social enterprise. Ex Monks transitioning from temple life to layperson life take you around a local wat (1 hour). A guided tour of a local temple, focusing on Buddhist culture, architecture, appropriate temple etiquette and the daily life of Novices and Monks. This is your opportunity to find out everything you would like to know about Buddhism in Laos

The second group will enjoy a 2-3-hour morning market tour. Watch the market come alive as the Laos people go about their business like always. Have local dishes explained and snack along the way. Finish up with a sit down taste of all you’ve collected and the best coffee in Luang Prabang!

Free afternoon until 4pm

Evening Mekong river cruise with finger food. Relax as you get to enjoy the sunset from the comfort of an armchair with a drink and snack in hand. Amazing photo opportunities. (4-6pm)

Day 3

Reverse of day 3 re tours.

Tonight’s dinner is at a funky restaurant called ‘Popolo’ (‘People’ in Italian) Full of energy, Popolo creates a funky and friendly place where you have a lot of fun! Their menu offers Mediterranean cuisine with delicious twist and wood-fired pizza.

Day 4

Kuang Sai Warerfall

Morning (9.30am) departure to waterfall with lunch. Pack your swimmers as we head out of town in our air con van to Kuang Si waterfalls. Layer after lay of cascading turquoise water. Great for a swim or simply relax, enjoy and take some great photos. Lunch is at a tranquil restaurant. Here you will enjoy high quality food whilst watching the waters cascade past your table.

Day 5

Ock Pop Tock

Today you can enjoy a sleep in as we depart at 11am for Ock Top Pok Living Craft Center.

Enjoy a 20-minute tour of their beautiful Living Crafts Centre. You will learn about Laos textiles from the silkworm to the finished product. Their knowledgeable staff will show you how natural dyes are made and introduce you to the most popular weaving techniques in Laos. You can wander through their weaving room and watch the experts at work creating masterpieces before your eyes.

Have a look at the shop knowing that every purchase helps Laos people. Then retire to the deck overlooking the Mekong for our group lunch

Day 6

Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center (TAEC)

10 am departure in for the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center (TAEC). Enjoy a 30-minute curator or Director’s tour providing insight into Laos’ ethnic cultures, traditions and customs.

This is a chance to learn from one of the creators of the museum’s exhibitions itself.

Enjoy a 20 min walk back and stop off for a bite to eat. Or take your swimmers and go straight to the pool

Day 7

Sunrise Alms Giving. Royal Palace Museum

Optional sunrise to immerse yourself in a traditional alms giving ceremony. A procession of saffron-robed monks collect food offered by locals. When you give food to a monk, it is believed you gain merit which will be carried over into your next life.

Perhaps enjoy a morning stroll before heading back your hotel for your breakfast.

After breakfast go on a guided tour of the Royal Palace Museum.  It houses a lot of interesting historical items. Every item tells a story…so you will learn quite a lot about Lao history and about Laos’ royal.

Day 8

Free Day

Free day to please yourself or relax at the pool. Simply mooch around the delightful old town, café’s and shops. Perhaps a massage or facial? If you want more action head out to the Mandalao elephant conservation center, the buffalo farm or butterfly farm. We can help you with booking these optional extras.

To finish the day at 6pm we have our final group dinner at Saky restaurant. High end gourmet menu. A great way to celebrate our time together and newly made friends.

Day 9

Depart Luang Prabang.

Get on board our air con van for transportation to your flights. We’ll be with you every step of the way to help with luggage and make sure you check in smoothly.
