Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Pokhara with a four-day village immersion without trekking. In the village accommodation is a higher standard than trekking routes but offers amazing panoramic views. All rooms have attached bathrooms.

Day 1

Arrive Kathmandu.

Day 2

Kathmandu. Kathmandu part day tour (Pashupathinath  / Boudanath Stupa) tour by local guide. 

Pashupathinath. Hindu cremation place on the holy Bagmati river. Observe ancient rituals associated cremation in this atmospheric location. 

At Boudanath the Buddhist stupa of Boudha Stupa dominates the skyline; it is one of the largest unique structure’s stupas in the world. The influx of large populations of refugees from Tibet has seen the construction of over 50 gompas (Tibetan convent) around Boudha. As of 1979, Boudha Stupa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3

Pokhara. Flight to Pokhara. Late afternoon orientation walk.

  • Mid / late morning flight to Pokhara. With any luck you will get an amazing view of the Himalayas!

Day 4

Pokhara. Taxi to Peace Stupa. Free afternoon.

Today after a leisurely breakfast we take a guided taxi ride to the world Peace Pagoda. Half hour taxi each way. Return to lakeside in time for a late lunch. Free afternoon

Standing on top of the Anadu Hill, Shanti Stupa adds beauty to the Pokhara Valley. It is a perfect holiday place providing a clear view of the Himalayan range, Fewa Lake and Pokhara city. The hilltop provides a splendid view of sunrise and sunset. TripAdvisor has ranked Shanti Stupa as the second top attraction in Pokhara.

Village immersion (day 5-9)
Inclusions: All meals, transportation and guide.

Day 5

Astam 1600m

Today after lunch we take a 1.5-hour jeep ride to Astam.  Enjoy village views along the way and a campfire at night! We stay two night in an ‘Eco Village’ with amzing mountain views and home grown food.

Day 6

Astam 1600m

Today is a rest day and we get to enjoy life in a traditional Nepali Village with the comforts of a delightful guest house. Examine the organic gardening practices! Do some yoga, birdwatching or simply read a book in delightful surroundings. Day walking along the ridge is also available for as short or as long as you like.

Day 7

Gauchok 1200m

Today is 1.5-hour jeep ride downhill and along the flat to another traditional delightful Nepali village. More spread out than previous villages, Gauchok is known for its milk production. Watch the villagers make the trip each evening to deliver their milk to the collection center.

Day 8

Gauchok 1200m 

Another free day with a morning walk through the cultivated fields to a delightful waterfall. Afternoon to relax, read a book, milk a cow or simply enjoy watching the villagers go about their daily chores.

Day 9

Pokhara. Return to Pokhara.

Mid-morning your transport will take you back to Pokhara. 1.5-hour jeep ride

Day 10

Pokhara. Free day.

Enjoy this delightful Lakeside town and all the cafes and restaurants.
